Description:

miR-125b, which is down-modulated in breast cancer, is located at chromosome 11q23-24, one of the regions most frequently deleted in breast, ovarian, and lung tumors. The recognition of a bona fide tumor suppressor gene located at 11q23-24 involved in the pathogenesis of human breast cancer is still lacking. The miR-125b gene establishes itself as an important candidate for this role.
