miRNA:

hsa-miR-10b

Disease:

breast cancer

Relationship type:

Causal

Detection method for miRNA expression:

Northern blot, qRT-PCR etc

Expression pattern of miRNA:

up-regulated

Validated targets of miRNA from the reference:

HOXD10

Validated targets of miRNA from TarBase:

unknown : More...

Predicted targets: MIRANDA, TARGETSCAN, PICTAR-VERT

Description:

miR-10b is highly expressed in metastatic breast cancer cells and positively regulates cell migration and invasion. The miR-10b induced by Twist proceeds to inhibit translation of the messenger RNA encoding homeobox D10, resulting in increased expression of a well-characterized pro-metastatic gene, RHOC.
